In 2021, the concept of the Fresh Start Initiative emerged to provide essential mental well-being support during redundancy processes. Our research revealed that 67% of surveyed individuals experienced negative impacts on their mental health due to redundancy. Surprisingly, they weren’t offered any support or even directed to company Employer Assistance Programs.

Fresh Start Initiative is a social enterprise which aims to bolster the wellbeing of those facing potential job loss or redundancy. By creating a safe space, employees can confidentially discuss their fears about the future. This support helps them transition positively, preparing them for what lies ahead. Notably, employers cover the cost of these support sessions as part of the exit package, allowing employees to focus on their next career steps.

Our counsellors are all registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), which means they adhere to the BACP’s standards of proficiency and ethical guidelines.
